Rumeli Hisarı Castle

It is an ancient historical castle built by the conqueror of Constantinople, Mehmed the Conqueror hundreds of years ago
The castle was built on the banks of the Bosphorus at the European side of Istanbul between 1451 and 1452 AD in order to control sea traffic and prevent supplies and aid from the Black Sea from reaching the Byzantines during the period of their siege.

Its walls are 82 meters high, and a wall thickness of 20 to 25 feet, and their construction was completed in a record period of only 4 months, and more than 5 thousand workers participated in the construction.
And after the conquest of Constantinople, Sultan Muhammad changed its name and called it Islambol or Astana
And then it became the capital of the Ottoman Empire, where it was built in the form of the name of the Prophet Muhammad, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, to transmit energy and relieve Muslims
To this day it is a symbol of Islamic conquests and a symbol of beauty and civilization in the building, and it is one of the most important historical landmarks of Istanbul
